What we leave behind
Walking along the sidewalk in East Arlington I saw this pole with the remnants of many, many posts. I imagine there were posters for events and signs about lost pets, political notices, and invitations. All that is left are the staples and tacks but even that I find beautiful.
As we enter this season of change I think about what we leave behind. What is left when the leaves are gone? The beauty in the shape of the branches. What is left when a loved one is gone? The beauty of the memories. What is left when we’ve done all we can? The beauty of expended effort.
What are you leaving behind? What is your hidden beauty?
Blessings,
Cynthia
